It was half past four. I was on board bus no. 962 bound for Woodlands Regional Interchange to meet my darling, Pei Qi, at Causeway Point for my ex-classmate's birthday party. So-called...
It was then, staring through the window & gazing upon the open mellows, that I realized a funny inverse proportion in the human life cycle. Has this ever crossed your mind before?
When Adam & Eve sinned againtst God, God punished them to toll the lands & experience great pain during childbirth. And they lived for close to a thousand years of age. It is also true that people nowadays hardly even manage to hit a hundred years-old. Pastor Rony Tan says that this is due to degenerative mutations of the human cell over the span of several thousands of years.
So where's the link, you say? Could it be... That the amount of 'suffering' that we experience here on Earth, be inversely proportional to our live spans? Back when man led a simple life of farming for their food, they lived for hundreds of years. Now, after life has gotten so complex, we only live for around a hundred years or less (most of the time, less).
Could God have a fixed general 'punishment-for-man quota'? And as the 'suffering' increases, we also get to live less of it here on Earth. Was this also part of God's plan? Could this be another form of God's hidden love & mercy he has showered us with?
I'm truly astounded by his wisdom & love & mercy! Thank you, God! (:
